Registration under the flag of Netherlands
(ANWB) for private owners or companies. Up 24 meters in length (*ANWB is a Dutch union, accredited by the Dutch Ministry of Transport to registrate boats owned privately or by a company and meant for leisure and non-profitable uses).
TERMS:
-Boat owners must be EU residents; everyone else has to have at least 50% of ownership
- The registration is issued for two years; the renewal has to be done every two years.
- ANWB does not demand a certificate of paid VAT value added tax (this is a responsibility of the owner of the boat regarding EC norms).
- Without nautical limitations, regardless of the nautical sailing zone, a boat registered under the ANWB of Netherlands includes Dutch naval regulatives (security equipment, sailing zones).
- Boat insurance is done preferentially at Pantaenius, Germany or at local insurance companies
- Mandatory safety equipment for the boat, based on the demands of the Law of the Sea in Netherlands.
- Registry ports Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Haag- when there is no specific wish for a registry port, Den Haag is automatically entered. The name of the registry port has to be written on the boat’s stern.
- It is possible to register boats made on one’s own account (without the EC certificate)- amateur fabrication (description and specification of procedures and materials used for fabrication, estimated value of the boat- based on the cost of in-built materials and work, also receipts and photographs of the boat).
- the deadline for the registration issue is 14 to 18 days after handing in the required documents.
DOCUMENTS:
New boats (for natural persons)
- a receipt with all information about the boat in the English language (or a translation and the original receipt) of the representative or the maker of the EC Certificate of the boat,
- a request for the registration of the boat in the Dutch boats’ registry, signature,
- authorisation for the registration agent,
- insurance policy,
- passport or other personal identity document copy,
- a copy of the company’s registration in the commercial register (or a registration certificate of the company and the person responsible, plus a copy of the responsible person’s identity document (if the owner is a company or a union).
Used boats
- a copy of previous registration (to be deleted subsequently after the new registration in the Netherlands),
- the receipt of the boat purchase as proof of boat ownership; in English or the original and a translation,
- a copy of the EC Conformity for boats manufactured after 1998,
- a request for the registration of the boat,
- authorisation for the registration agent,
- insurance policy.
Registration of vessels under the flag of privileges IOM
(Isle of Man)-Red Ensign Group-number of British registers, till 24 meters length, in individual property, intended to sport and pleasure
BENEFITS:
- all vessels registered in IOM have the right and duty to sail under the flag Red Ensign
- tax is not obligatory to pay (VAT)
- Registrar IOM operates after modern and high standards of registers of vessels
- main ports, which perform as mother ports: Castletown, Douglas, Peel, and Ramsey
- person , which want to register a vessel in a private property, intended to sport and pleasure, to 24 m can be: citizens of states EU, EEA and Russia (also USA, Australia, Canada, India, UAE)
- owners of these vessels can be also corporations, formed in EU and EEA and in GB and Channel Islands
- achievement of AIS MMSI and EPIRB (Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacons), on the base of this registration, by OFCOM, London
- obligatory testing of the vessel’s name into Registrar IOM (basis for MMSI and EPIRB identification)
- unrestricted sailing with this registration in territorial seas of all states out of EU, including USA and limited entry in territorial seas of states of EU to 18 months of continuously staying, without obligations of TAX payment (VAT) for owners of vessels from EU (individual owners and in ownership of corporations registered in EU)
- already defined examiner for exactness of technical significations of vessel (Survey) in Croatia

Individual owners
Used vessels:
- confirmation of already existing name of vessel in the register of vessels
- requisition for registration of vessel
- statement about ownership of vessel
- statement that the vessel is used in personal intentions (not for economic intentions- charter)
- document filled in about technical data of vessel ( survey) from the side of authorized organization (in Croatia)
- document filled in for the use of VHV MMSI identification or EPIRB, on the basis of technical data of such a VHF station or EPRB (OFCOM –after the attainment of registration’s number of vessel into REGISTRAR- IOM)
- erasure from the register of previous register and copy of former registration
New vessels:
The same us above and:
- deed of sale in English
- producer’s Certificate of vessel (Builder’s Certificate) in English
- EC Conformity certificate, (if the vessel is made in EU-obligatory)
Owners of corporation from EU and EEA
The same as above and:
- Determination of responsible person according to Statute of corporation
- Copy of documents of this corporation
